STL Viewer processes your model locally in your browser.
Your model stays local
Opening an STL in the browser viewer does not upload the file, its geometry, filename, or model metadata to the server. Parsing, validation, measurement, and rendering happen on your device.
Optional render API
The separate render API accepts files only when an API client explicitly submits them. It processes each file in memory to produce the requested image or archive and does not save the STL or its model metadata. The browser viewer does not use this API.
Retention
The service does not retain model files or model metadata. Closing or refreshing the page clears a locally loaded model from the viewer, and API file data is released after its response is completed.
Request analytics
The server records the time, HTTP method, requested path, response status, IP address, browser user agent, and referrer for requests made to the service. After the local viewer successfully displays a model, it sends an empty success event so the service can count completed uses. These records support operation, security, and basic usage analysis. They do not contain STL files, model geometry, filenames, dimensions, triangle counts, or other model metadata.
Ownership
You retain your rights in models opened with STL Viewer. Opening a local file does not grant the service operator a license to store, use, publish, distribute, or sell it.
Device security
Your browser and device handle the model locally. Keep your browser and operating system updated, and only open files from sources you trust.
